\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\nThe reuse and recovery of waste streams of nutrients was central to this project. Minerals such as calcium, magnesium or phosphorus were liberated from waste streams of dolomite and struvite. Plasma-generated nitrate was utilised to dissolve waste streams into a complete mineral fertiliser. Where it was not possible to get the desired concentration of a nutrient from a waste source, certified organic sources were used instead, making the fertiliser solution delivered to plants fully sourced from waste streams, organic sources or the air.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\nThe fertiliser was used in multiple growth cycles at Snarum Gartneri, where it demonstrated that its use, produced plants of equal quality to the commercial counterpart, in terms of growth rate, flavour, smell and storage ability.
