N2 Applied’s solution is in the process of improving food production and now the experienced industry leader Rasmus Sunde has joined as Chairman of the Board. N2 Applied’s solutions for producing fertiliser circularly and locally from manure, electricity, and air at the farm, significantly cut greenhouse gas emissions. The process and technology are capable of completely replacing the need for traditional chemical fertilisers.

– “N2 Applied’s technology has enormous potential. The world is now experiencing galloping fertiliser prices and greater uncertainty around food production. At the same time, we need to feed a growing population whilst reducing emissions”, says Sunde.

Sunde identifies N2 Applied as a rare Norwegian company with sound prospects to answer key global challenges.

Sunde also holds the Chairman of the Board position with Andøya Space, Marine Water Production and TP-Products. Accruing over 30 years of experience as Chairman of the Board or Senior Management positions throughout the energy industry. Among the companies he has been at, one finds e.g., Aibel, Vetco, ABB, FMC, Forsys and TechnipFMC. He has experience in both emerging and mature markets.

– “I look forward to helping shape the commercialisation and internationalisation phase that N2 Applied is now entering”, says Sunde.

N2 Applied’s solution is a machine where livestock manure is supplied with nitrogen from the air, and the result is full-fledged fertiliser that provides crop yields as chemical fertiliser. The difference is that it results in significant emission reductions and allows fertiliser self-sufficiency for the farmer, creating a more circular production. In this way, agriculture can go from centralised production to a local and environmentally friendly way of making fertiliser.

Just before Christmas 2021, N2 Applied successfully made it to the other side of a very demanding process with the EIC (European Innovation Council) and was promised NOK 150 million in equity.

– “The financing process is already well underway. With Rasmus’ experience, we will be even better off, and his accession has been received very positively by existing and potential investors”, says Carl Hansson, CEO of N2 Applied.
